Cryptozoospermia is defined as the presence of fewer than 100,000 sperm in the initial analysis of the ejaculate semen from the male reproductive system or after washing, with only a few sperm seen in each field.<\/p>\n

This condition makes the chance of natural pregnancy for couples almost impossible. When hormone levels are examined to investigate the cause in men, recombinant FSH (external supplementation), recombinant HCG, or Clomiphene treatment can be planned under the recommendation of an andrologist for individuals with low FSH hormone levels.<\/p>\n

This condition can be confused with low semen volume in men, but it is unrelated. Even if the semen volume is low, it can still contain millions of sperm.<\/p>\n

In cases where a man has extremely low sperm count, semen samples collected at different times may sometimes show no sperm at all, a condition known as aspermia. Sperm are considered dead if no movement is observed and if viability tests (HOST, Eosin staining) do not show any signs of life. This represents one of the most severe forms of male infertility. Crypto Azoospermia, also known as Temporary Azoospermia, refers to the condition where some semen samples given intermittently at different times contain few sperm, while some samples show none, indicating azoospermia. In this patient group, the slow embryo development, especially from the 4th day onwards, may lead the IVF doctor to decide on directly retrieving sperm from the testis as the sperm source.<\/p>\n

However, in IVF treatment, if sperm is surgically retrieved from the man's testis (with about a 58% chance of finding sperm), there is definitely a chance of pregnancy if a good embryo develops.<\/p>\n
