Topic guide

The vaccine and protection

1.What is Gardasil 9?

Gardasil 9 is a preventive HPV vaccine designed to build immunity against nine types of human papillomavirus. It is not a medicine that treats an existing HPV infection. In short, Gardasil 9 is also known as the 9-valent HPV vaccine. [1]

2.Which HPV types does Gardasil 9 protect against?

The vaccine covers HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58. That is why it is also called the “nine-valent HPV vaccine”. [1]

3.What does HPV stand for?

4.What diseases is Gardasil 9 used to prevent?

It is used to help protect against precancerous lesions and cancers of the cervix, vulva, vagina and anus, and against genital warts, caused by the HPV types it covers. In short, what Gardasil 9 does is help prevent these diseases. [1]

5.Does Gardasil 9 protect against all HPV types and all genital warts?

Gardasil 9 does not target every HPV type, but types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58. HPV 6 and 11, which cause most genital warts, are included. The vaccine helps prevent diseases linked to these types; it does not treat an existing HPV infection or warts. [1, 2]

6.Does Gardasil 9 contain live virus? Can it transmit HPV?

No. The vaccine contains virus-like particles that cannot cause infection. It does not cause HPV infection. [3]

7.Do I need to complete all doses for Gardasil 9 to protect me?

Yes. Completing all doses planned for your age and health status is important for full protection to develop. Immunity builds over time; the first dose does not give full protection straight away. Even after all doses, the vaccine does not guarantee 100% protection against every HPV type or in every person. [1, 2]

8.Once vaccinated, are condoms and other protection unnecessary?

No. Gardasil 9 does not protect against other sexually transmitted infections. Condoms can reduce the risk of HPV transmission but do not give full protection, as they do not cover all exposed areas. [5]

Who can be vaccinated

9.Is Gardasil 9 only for women?

No. Men can be vaccinated too. HPV can also cause genital warts and certain cancers in men; the decision to vaccinate is based on age and health status. [6]

10.Can men get Gardasil 9 at your clinic?

Yes. Male patients can book an appointment and get Gardasil 9 at our clinic. At the appointment, our doctor reviews your health history and any previous doses; if suitable, the vaccine is given and a vaccination certificate is issued in your name.

11.What is the minimum age for Gardasil 9?

Vaccination can be considered from age 9. It is not routinely used in younger children. For children and adolescents, the plan is made together with a parent or legal guardian. [4]

12.Why is vaccination recommended before becoming sexually active?

The vaccine's protective benefit is greatest before exposure to the targeted HPV types. Early vaccination aims to build immunity before any future exposure. This is one of the key points when considering the benefits of Gardasil 9. [6]

13.I'm already sexually active — is it too late for the vaccine?

No. Being sexually active does not mean you have been exposed to all HPV types in the vaccine. Depending on your age and previous vaccinations, you can still benefit. [6]

14.I'm married and monogamous — do I still need the vaccine?

In long-term, mutually monogamous relationships, the chance of acquiring new HPV is lower. The expected benefit is assessed considering your previous vaccinations and possible future exposure. [6]

15.If my partner is vaccinated, do I need to be vaccinated too?

Your partner's vaccination does not replace your own. Your own age, health and previous doses should be assessed separately. [5, 6]

HPV-positive results, tests and follow-up

16.Can I get Gardasil 9 if my HPV test is positive or HPV 16, 18 or 45 was detected?

Yes, a positive HPV result alone is not a reason to avoid the vaccine. Gardasil 9 can protect against the other HPV types in the vaccine that you have not yet been exposed to, so we recommend discussing vaccination with your doctor. The vaccine does not clear an existing infection; follow-up and any treatment related to your HPV result must continue separately. At our clinic, our doctor reviews your health and previous vaccinations and sets your plan. [7]

17.Will Gardasil 9 turn my HPV test negative?

No. The purpose of Gardasil 9 is not to treat an existing HPV infection or turn the test negative, but to protect against the types the vaccine covers. Even if you are HPV-positive, vaccination can be considered for protection against the other types. Continue your test follow-up as your doctor recommends. [7]

18.Can I get Gardasil 9 if I have genital warts?

Yes, having genital warts alone is not a reason to avoid the vaccine. The vaccine can protect against the vaccine HPV types you have not yet been exposed to, so we recommend discussing vaccination with your doctor. It does not remove existing warts. Wart treatment and the vaccination plan are assessed separately. [7]

19.What should I do if my smear result is abnormal or I have a CIN diagnosis?

Sonuçlarınızı hekime gösterin. Aşılama değerlendirilebilir; ancak gerekli kolposkopi, takip veya tedavi aşı nedeniyle ertelenmemelidir. [7, 8]

20.I had a conisation and my HPV is still positive or has come back — how are vaccination and follow-up planned?

Review your previous procedure and pathology reports and your latest HPV and cytology results with your doctor. Gardasil 9 does not clear an existing infection or treat a past lesion. The decision to vaccinate is made based on your age, previous vaccinations and personal situation. A normal cytology result alone does not remove the need for follow-up after previous treatment. Your follow-up plan should continue regardless of vaccination.

21.Is an HPV test required before vaccination?

No. A routine HPV test is not recommended just to decide on vaccination. Tests requested because of symptoms or screening needs are assessed separately. [9]

22.Do I need an examination or doctor's approval elsewhere before vaccination?

No. You don't need a check-up at another centre or an external doctor's approval before your appointment. No routine smear, HPV test or blood test is required just for vaccination. At our clinic, the doctor's examination and review of your health history are part of your appointment. If you have a special health condition, our doctor will plan any additional assessment needed. [9]

23.Should I continue smear and HPV screening after vaccination?

Yes. Because the vaccine does not remove every risk, cervical screening continues. The schedule depends on your age, previous results and the recommendations of the country where you are followed up. [8]

Doses and timing

24.How many doses of Gardasil 9 do adults need?

The Gardasil 9 product information gives a three-dose series for people who receive their first dose at age 15 or older. Your personal plan is set together with your previous vaccination records. So the answer to how many doses of Gardasil 9 you need depends on the age at which you start. [1]

25.How does the three-dose Gardasil 9 schedule work?

The first dose is given on your appointment day and marks the start of the schedule. The second dose is given 2 months after the first, and the third 6 months after the first — about 4 months after the second. For example, if your first dose is on 10 January, the second is planned for 10 March and the third for 10 July. This is called the 0–2–6 month schedule. If you can't make the exact dates, the second and third doses can also be given from 3 days before to 5 days after the planned date. For example, if your second dose is planned for 10 March, it can be given between 7 and 15 March. This is the standard basis for the Gardasil 9 vaccination schedule and dose intervals. [1]

26.I've had my first dose — can I get the second one month later? Can a 0–1–3 month schedule be used?

The second dose can be given at least 1 month after the first. However, in the three-dose schedule the third dose must be at least 3 months after the second. So a 0–1–3 month schedule does not meet the recommended minimum intervals; the shortest accelerated option is 0–1–4 months. The standard schedule is 0–2–6 months, and completing all three doses within one year is recommended. Our doctor will set your personal schedule based on your age and previous doses.

27.How many doses of Gardasil 9 do people under 15 need?

People who receive their first dose between ages 9 and 14 — that is, before their 15th birthday — and have a normal immune system can follow a two-dose schedule. The second dose is usually given 6–12 months after the first; the interval allowed in the Turkish product information is 5–13 months. If the first dose is given at 15 or older, three doses are needed. People with a weakened immune system may need a different plan regardless of age. [1, 6]

28.Can I get all doses within one week in Istanbul?

No. A multi-dose series cannot be squeezed into a few days. On a short trip, you can get the appropriate dose and plan the others at the recommended intervals. [4]

29.If my second or third dose is late, do I have to start over?

Usually not. The series is not restarted because of a delay; valid previous doses are counted and the missing doses are completed. Set the new dates with your doctor. [9]

30.Several years have passed since my first dose — can I continue?

In most cases, recorded valid doses count. A completion plan is made by reviewing your age at the first dose, the brand, the dates and your current health. [17]

31.Can I bring a dose forward to catch my flight?

There is sometimes some flexibility in the schedule, but minimum intervals must be respected. Share all your dose dates before booking a flight and have the new date confirmed. [3]

32.Can I get my dose before or after the planned date? What if it falls on a public holiday?

Try to get your doses on the recommended dates where possible. If you can't make the date, the second and third doses can be given from 3 days before to 5 days after the planned date; for the dose to be valid, the minimum interval from the previous dose must be respected. Our clinic is closed on public and religious holidays; if your dose date falls on a holiday, we can find a suitable day within this window. Send us your previous dose dates and the days you will be in Istanbul. [1, 3]

33.Does the number of doses change if my immune system is weakened?

It may. For people with a weakened immune system, a three-dose schedule and timing that fits their treatment may be considered; the response to the vaccine may also be lower. [17]

Series started elsewhere and remaining doses

34.I had my first dose in another country — can I get the second or third dose at your clinic?

Yes. Even if your first dose was given in another country or healthcare facility, you can book an appointment with us for your next doses. Share the name of the previous vaccine and the dates given, and bring your vaccination record if you have it. Our doctor reviews your records, gives the appropriate dose and issues a new vaccination certificate. Changing country or clinic does not automatically restart the series. [9]

35.Can I have the first dose at your clinic and the remaining doses in my own or another country?

Yes. You can have the first dose at our clinic and get the remaining doses from us to take with you. We prepare a thermal cool bag, suitable ice packs and the vaccine documents for transport. You can have the next doses in your own country or another country you travel to, with a doctor or healthcare facility that gives vaccinations. All three doses do not have to be given at the same clinic. Check in advance that the centre where you continue accepts vaccines brought from outside, and show your vaccination records. If you prefer, you can also book your next doses with us again. [9]

36.Do you write a prescription for the remaining doses? Can I buy the vaccine from a pharmacy in Istanbul or elsewhere?

No. We do not issue prescriptions for remaining doses; Gardasil 9 is not a vaccine sold on prescription. We also do not recommend buying the vaccine from, or having it given at, a place where you don't know how it was stored or whether the cold chain was maintained. You can have your remaining doses at our clinic or collect them from us in a thermal cool bag. When it comes to where to buy Gardasil 9, we recommend choosing a healthcare facility where the cold chain is guaranteed.

37.What kind of syringe is used for the vaccine?

Gardasil 9 comes in a ready-to-use prefilled syringe, with needles included in the pack. The vaccine is not drawn into another syringe; a healthcare professional injects it into the muscle with the syringe from the box. So the answer to how Gardasil 9 is given is: an intramuscular injection by a healthcare professional.

38.Does the vaccine need to be mixed or diluted?

No. Gardasil 9 is a ready-to-use suspension; it is not diluted or mixed with any other medicine. Just before use it is shaken well to give a uniform, white, cloudy appearance. A product with particles or discolouration is not used.

39.Can you send me written instructions on how it is given?

Our clinic does not send separate written administration instructions. The package leaflet in the box contains the administration information, and the vaccine must be given by a healthcare professional. If you or the healthcare staff giving the vaccine have questions, message us and we'll help. This leaflet is also known as the Gardasil 9 package insert.

40.Are Gardasil and Gardasil 9 the same vaccine?

Not exactly. Quadrivalent Gardasil covers four HPV types; Gardasil 9 covers five more types in addition. If your document only says “Gardasil”, the product should be clarified. The difference between Gardasil 4 and Gardasil 9 is the number of HPV types covered. [2]

41.If my first doses were quadrivalent Gardasil, can I complete the series with Gardasil 9?

Some guidelines allow an incomplete series to be completed with Gardasil 9. A brand change should be planned by a doctor after checking previous doses and local product information. [10]

42.I started with Cervarix — can I switch to Gardasil 9?

Guidelines allow an incomplete series to be completed with this switch; however, product information may differ. Show the vaccine name and all dates to a doctor to create a personal plan. [10]

43.After a full Gardasil or Cervarix series, is Gardasil 9 necessary?

No. After a completed bivalent or quadrivalent series, an extra Gardasil 9 series is not routinely recommended for everyone. Any possible additional benefit is assessed individually. [10]

44.What if I don't know which HPV vaccine I had?

Ask the previous centre for your vaccination record. The brand cannot be determined from the box colour or a remembered name alone; tell the doctor about any uncertainty.

45.Can I share a vaccination certificate or photo from another country?

Yes. To assess your previous dose, you can send a photo of a document showing the product name, dose date and administration details clearly to our clinic's contact line. It also helps to bring the original to your appointment. If translation is needed, we'll clarify this with you in advance.

46.What if I passed the age limit after my first dose?

Having valid previous doses matters. The age at which you started the series and your current age are assessed together; see a doctor with your old records to decide how to continue. [6, 9]

Safety and side effects

47.Is Gardasil 9 a safe vaccine?

Yes. The safety of Gardasil 9 is supported by clinical trials and monitoring after widespread use. Most people can continue their daily life after vaccination. As with any vaccine, mild and temporary side effects may occur; serious allergic reactions are rare. It's important to tell our doctor about any previous vaccine reactions. [11]

48.Can I get fever, redness or tiredness after Gardasil 9?

Not everyone has side effects. The most common complaint is temporary pain or tenderness in the arm where the vaccine was given. Redness and swelling at the injection site, headache, mild fever, tiredness or nausea may also occur. These are usually mild and temporary. If you feel well, you can walk, sightsee and continue your plans the same day. The Gardasil 9 side effects reported by people who receive it are mostly these mild, temporary complaints. [11, 12]

49.Is Gardasil 9 painful? What should I do if my arm hurts afterwards?

You may feel brief burning or stinging during the injection, and pain and tenderness in the arm afterwards; how much it hurts varies from person to person. For mild discomfort you can apply a clean, cool cloth to the area. Reduce movements that strain the arm depending on the pain. If the pain becomes significant, keeps increasing or lasts long, contact our clinic team. [12]

50.I had no side effects — did the vaccine not work?

No. Having no side effects does not mean the vaccine isn't working. Protection is not measured by how sore your arm is or how high your fever gets. [11]

51.Which symptoms need emergency help?

Shortness of breath, swelling of the face or throat, or widespread hives with feeling unwell may be signs of a serious allergic reaction. In Turkey, call 112; don't wait for a reply to a message. [11]

52.I had a severe allergic reaction after a previous dose. Can I be vaccinated again?

A history of a severe allergic reaction to a previous dose or to a component must be assessed. Do not get the next dose without a doctor's review. [11, 14]

53.Does Gardasil 9 cause infertility or early menopause?

Current scientific evidence does not support a causal link between the HPV vaccine and infertility or premature ovarian insufficiency. Internet claims on this topic are not supported by evidence. [15]

54.Is vaccination postponed if I have a fever or a cold?

A mild cold alone may not be a reason to delay. With a moderate or severe acute illness, with or without fever, postponing may be considered. Tell us about your symptoms before your appointment. [14]

55.Is every health problem I have after vaccination caused by the vaccine?

No. Happening one after the other does not prove cause. New or serious symptoms should still be assessed; tell the healthcare team the vaccination date and when the symptoms started. [11]

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and special situations

56.Can I get Gardasil 9 while pregnant?

Routine HPV vaccination is not recommended during pregnancy. Doses not yet started or remaining are postponed until after pregnancy. [10]

57.I was vaccinated without knowing I was pregnant — what should I do?

Tell your doctor. An HPV vaccine given accidentally during pregnancy is not in itself a reason to end the pregnancy. Remaining doses are postponed. [10, 11]

58.If I get pregnant after the first or second dose, is the series wasted?

No. Remaining doses are paused during pregnancy and completed after birth on a suitable schedule. The series is not restarted just because of this break. [9, 10]

59.Can I get Gardasil 9 while breastfeeding?

Gardasil 9 can be used while breastfeeding. Tell the doctor that you are breastfeeding and share your other health information before vaccination. [4]

60.Do I need a pregnancy test before vaccination?

A routine pregnancy test is not needed just for vaccination. If your period is late or you think you might be pregnant, tell our doctor before your appointment and the necessary assessment will be made. [10]

61.I'm planning a pregnancy or IVF soon — when should I be vaccinated?

Set your vaccination dates with your doctor together with your pregnancy or embryo transfer plans. Gardasil 9 is not a live vaccine; even so, remaining doses are not continued during pregnancy. [3, 10]

62.Can I be vaccinated while taking the contraceptive pill?

Using hormonal contraception is not in itself a reason to avoid the vaccine. Do not stop your contraception on your own because of the vaccine. [4]

63.Can I be vaccinated if I have HIV or am on immunosuppressive treatment?

Vaccination can be considered; the vaccine is not live. The immune response may be reduced and the dose plan may differ. Timing should be planned with the doctor who manages the condition. [17]

64.Can I get Gardasil 9 if I take medication or have a chronic illness?

Taking medication or having a chronic illness is not always a reason to avoid the vaccine. If you are on antibiotics, what they were prescribed for is considered; if you take blood thinners, the risk of bleeding and bruising at the injection site is assessed. Tell our doctor about any bleeding disorder, conditions or treatments affecting the immune system, and the medicines you take. Do not stop your medicines on your own for the vaccine; suitability and timing are decided after the assessment. [4, 14]

Vaccination day and daily life

65.Where is Gardasil 9 injected?

It is injected into the muscle, usually the deltoid area of the upper arm. It is not injected into a vein. In short, Gardasil 9 is given as an intramuscular injection in the upper arm. [3]

66.Do I need to fast before the vaccine?

No fasting is needed just for vaccination. If another test requiring fasting is planned the same day, ask separately about its preparation. [16]

67.Should I take a painkiller or antihistamine before the vaccine?

Do not start any preventive medicine on your own. Tell us about previous reactions and discuss with the healthcare team whether any medicine is needed before or after vaccination. [18]

68.Can I shower after the vaccine?

Yes. You can take a normal warm shower after vaccination. Don't rub the injection site hard. As our clinic's vaccination-day care advice, we ask you to avoid long exposure to very hot water and to postpone the hammam and sauna that day.

69.Can I exercise or go to a hammam or sauna on vaccination day?

If you feel well, you can walk and continue your normal daily activities. If your arm hurts, postpone heavy exercise and movements that strain the arm. Our clinic's vaccination-day care advice is to avoid long exposure to very hot water and not to use a hammam or sauna. If you develop fever, dizziness or marked tiredness, rest and let our healthcare team know.

70.Can I drink alcohol after the vaccine?

There is no known specific interaction between Gardasil 9 and alcohol, and there is no alcohol ban after vaccination. Still, we recommend avoiding heavy drinking on vaccination day so you can more easily notice temporary complaints such as tiredness, dizziness or fever.

71.Can I work, walk, sightsee or travel after the vaccine?

Yes. Once the short observation after vaccination is over and you feel well, you can continue your normal daily life. There is no required break from work, walking, sightseeing in Istanbul or travelling just because of the vaccine. If you have any complaints, adjust your plans to how you feel. [12, 13]

72.Can I drive after Gardasil 9?

Yes, you can drive once the observation after vaccination is complete and you feel well. If you develop dizziness, a feeling of faintness or anything that affects your concentration after the vaccine, don't drive until these symptoms pass. [4]

73.Can Gardasil 9 be given on the same day as other vaccines?

It can be given at the same visit as many vaccines, using separate syringes and different injection sites. Tell us the name of the other vaccine so suitability can be confirmed. [3, 9]

74.Do I need to pause my sex life until all doses are complete?

No. You don't need to pause your sex life because of the Gardasil 9 vaccination process. As the vaccine does not protect against all sexually transmitted infections, keep using protection. If you have existing warts, lesions or treatment, follow your doctor's specific advice. [5]

75.Can an antibody test show whether I'm protected after vaccination?

A routine antibody test to show personal protection after HPV vaccination is not recommended. The vaccination record and completion of valid doses are what count. [3]

Appointments, languages and opening hours

76.Can I book a Gardasil 9 appointment and reserve vaccines before arriving from another country?

Yes. Whatever country you are coming from, you can contact us before your trip to Istanbul and book an appointment. By telling us the number of doses you need, you can also reserve your vaccines in advance. Share the dates you will be in Istanbul, your age and any previous doses. Together we'll arrange vaccination to fit your travel plans and, if needed, collection of the remaining doses.

77.Can I get Gardasil 9 at your clinic?

Yes. You can get Gardasil 9 by appointment at Dr. Soner Düzgüner's clinic. At your appointment, a doctor's assessment is carried out; if suitable, the vaccine is given and your vaccination certificate is prepared. If you wish, you can also get your remaining doses to take with you. Our clinic provides Gardasil 9 vaccination in Istanbul, in the Şişli district.

78.What information should I share to book a Gardasil 9 appointment?

To book an appointment, please share your name as written in your passport and your preferred date and time. Also send your age and the dates of any previous vaccine doses. Let us know in advance about pregnancy, a serious allergy or any significant health condition. Bring your passport when you come to the clinic.

79.Can I send a photo of my ID on WhatsApp for registration?

Before you send a document photo, let's clarify the information needed for registration and the sharing method set by the clinic. Sharing only the necessary information may be enough instead of the whole document. An ID photo and a photo of a previous vaccination record are used for different purposes.

80.Do I need an appointment? How many days ahead should I write — can I come the same or next day?

Yes, vaccination is by appointment. Contacting us two days ahead is usually enough. If availability and stock allow, we can offer an appointment for the next day, and with prior notice you can also come the same day. Send us your preferred day and time and we'll check availability and stock and book your appointment. If you'll be collecting more than one dose, let us know that in advance too.

81.If I miss my appointment time or my flight is delayed, can I change or cancel it?

Yes. If you'll be late or your plans change, let us know as early as possible. Depending on availability, we can move your appointment to a later time the same day, postpone it to another day or cancel it. If your flight changes, share your new travel time too.

82.Can two people or a family book appointments at the same time?

Yes. We can schedule appointments for people coming together on the same day, one after another. Each person receives a separate doctor's assessment and a vaccination certificate in their own name. When booking, share everyone's name as written in their passport.

83.Can I get support in Russian, English or another language? Does the doctor speak Russian?

Yes. We provide language support for everything at our clinic. Throughout the process — appointment, consultation, vaccination and documents — you can communicate in Russian, English or your preferred language. It's fine if you speak only one language; just tell us which language you'd like support in.

84.What documents should I bring? For the third dose, are the records of the first two doses and my passport enough?

Your passport is enough for registration; no referral or approval letter from another doctor is needed to get vaccinated. If you've had HPV vaccine before, share your vaccination record or dose dates so we can confirm your schedule. For example, for the third dose your passport and the record or certificate for the first two doses are enough. After our doctor reviews your previous doses, the vaccine is given and a doctor-signed vaccination certificate is issued for that dose. The name on your certificate matches your passport.

85.Can I be vaccinated if I'm a foreign national or don't have a residence permit in Turkey?

We vaccinate many patients from different countries at our clinic. No Turkish residence permit or external doctor's approval is required for a vaccination appointment; your passport is enough for registration. Your medical suitability for the vaccine is assessed by our doctor at your appointment.

86.Can I get Gardasil 9 if I'm only in Istanbul for one day?

Yes. By planning your appointment in advance, you can get the appropriate dose during your visit. Allow time for the doctor's assessment, the injection, about 15 minutes of observation and preparation of your vaccination certificate. If you wish, you can collect the remaining doses together with travel preparation; these doses are given later on the recommended dates.

87.Can I get Gardasil 9 on the day of my flight?

Yes. We can schedule your vaccination in the morning of your flight day. Allow enough time for the injection, short observation, document preparation and getting to the airport. Share your flight time in advance and we'll set your appointment time together. If you feel well, you can travel the same day.

88.Do you have Gardasil 9 in stock? Should I confirm in advance?

Gardasil 9 is usually in stock. Still, please message us before your appointment or trip to confirm current availability. If you'll be taking extra doses with you, tell us the total number of doses you need in advance.

89.What are your opening hours? Do you offer weekend, early morning or evening appointments?

Our clinic is open Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00 and Saturday 09:00–14:00. We are closed on Sundays and on public and religious holidays. Within these hours we can book morning and afternoon appointments; no appointments are given after 17:00. Please book your vaccination appointment in advance.

Getting here and accommodation

90.Where is your clinic? Can you share the full address and location — which entrance and floor should I use?

Our clinic is in the Lotus Nişantaşı Offices in the Nişantaşı area of Şişli. Gardasil 9 in Şişli, Istanbul: you can reach our clinic at the address below. Address: Lotus Nişantaşı Ofisleri, No: 82, Halaskargazi Cad. No: 38-66, Şişli, Istanbul. Enter the building through entrance A and go up to our office, number 82, on the 5th floor. Google Maps location: Lotus Nişantaşı Offices – Google Maps.

91.How long does it take to get from the airport to the clinic? How do I come by taxi or public transport?

Our clinic is in central Istanbul, close to Osmanbey metro station (M2). By taxi, the journey from Istanbul Airport or Sabiha Gökçen Airport usually takes about an hour depending on traffic, and longer at peak times. By public transport from Istanbul Airport, take the M11 metro line to Gayrettepe, then the M2 line to Osmanbey. From Sabiha Gökçen Airport, take the airport bus to Taksim, then the M2 line to Osmanbey. For flight-day appointments, we recommend allowing extra time for traffic.

92.Are there hotels near the clinic?

Yes. Our clinic is in central Istanbul, with many hotels and accommodation options nearby. If you'll be taking vaccines with you, check in advance whether your room has a fridge that reliably keeps 2–8°C.

93.Do you have a branch or authorised representative in my country (for example Russia or Israel)?

No, our clinic has no branches or representatives abroad. If you want to take your vaccines with you, you can come to our clinic with your passport and collect the vaccines for yourself in a thermal cool bag.

Fees and payment

94.How can I find out the price of Gardasil 9? Does the fee depend on nationality or the number of people?

At our clinic, pricing does not depend on nationality, country of residence or number of people; all patients, Turkish or foreign, pay the same fee. Just tell us whether you want vaccination at the clinic or only the vaccine, and how many doses you need. For current prices, please contact the clinic: WhatsApp +90 545 440 55 45. Gardasil 9 price information is provided by our clinic according to the number of doses and the type of service.

95.What is included in the fee for vaccination at your clinic?

We take a single payment for vaccination at the clinic. It covers the doctor's examination and review of your health history, supply and administration of the vaccine, a short observation afterwards and your vaccination certificate. If you'd like extra doses to take with you, we provide separate information about the total fee and travel preparation.

96.Can I pay in cash or by card?

Yes. You can pay in cash or by card. For current prices, accepted currencies and payment details, message our clinic team before your appointment.

Authenticity, cold chain and transport

97.How can I check that the vaccine I'm given is Gardasil 9?

Before vaccination, you can check the product name, packaging, expiry date and lot number with the healthcare team. Ask for it to match the product name in your vaccination record.

98.Does a photo of the box prove the vaccine is genuine?

Not on its own. Reliable supply and administration records also matter. Authenticity should not be judged from a photo or the language on the packaging.

99.Can I also buy Gardasil 9 to take home for a family member?

Yes. In addition to your own remaining doses, you can also get Gardasil 9 for a family member. Telling us the number of doses you need in advance lets us prepare the stock, cool bag and documents correctly. Your relative's suitability and dose schedule should be assessed separately by the doctor who will give the vaccine.

100.How should Gardasil 9 be stored?

Gardasil 9 must be stored at 2–8°C, in its original box and protected from light. It must never be frozen. These conditions must be maintained at the clinic, during transport and until the next dose is given. If you're unsure about the temperature conditions, ask the healthcare team before the vaccine is given. Gardasil 9 is a cold-chain vaccine, and its storage conditions matter at every stage. [1]

101.Can I buy Gardasil 9 at your clinic and take it to another country?

Yes. You can have the first dose at our clinic and take the remaining doses with you, or contact us just to obtain the vaccine. We pack the doses you need in a thermal cool bag with suitable ice packs and issue the vaccine documents. We can time collection to fit your flight or onward journey. Message us for current prices and collection details. The vaccine must be kept at 2–8°C throughout the journey, and airline and destination-country rules should be checked separately. [1]

102.Can you ship Gardasil 9 doses to another country?

No. Shipping medicines and vaccines abroad requires a special export licence, which only the relevant government institutions hold. For this reason, vaccines cannot be sent abroad by courier. You can collect your vaccines in person at our clinic or, if you can't come, send someone you trust.

103.Can I collect the vaccines I'm taking with me on the day of my flight?

Yes. With advance planning, you can collect your vaccines from our clinic in the morning of your flight day. Tell us your flight time and total journey time, and we'll prepare the cool bag, ice packs and documents to match your collection plan. Allow enough time to stop by the clinic and get to the airport.

104.Can I store the vaccine in my hotel fridge after collection?

Yes, if the fridge reliably keeps 2–8°C. Hotel minibars may not always do this; check the temperature in advance. Keep the vaccine in its own box; do not put it in the freezer or let it touch the freezer compartment or cooling surfaces. If you're unsure about the conditions, we can plan for you to collect the vaccine close to your departure. [1]

105.Can I buy the vaccine and collect it closer to my travel date?

Yes. After you buy your vaccines, we can keep them at our clinic under proper cold-chain conditions until your trip and hand them over close to your departure. Let's set the day and time of collection in advance and have the bag, ice packs and documents ready.

106.I'm travelling to another country after Istanbul — can I take my vaccines with me?

Yes. You can carry the vaccines on your onward journey too; 2–8°C storage must be maintained throughout. Share your connections, hotel stays and vaccination date with us, and we'll plan the collection time and travel preparation accordingly. Check in advance with the healthcare facility in your destination country that they will give the vaccine and accept the product. [1]

107.Do you provide a vaccine cool bag, ice packs and the necessary documents? Can I collect them right after my appointment?

Yes. For vaccines you take with you from our clinic, we prepare a suitable thermal cool bag, ice packs and the vaccine documents. If you let us know in advance, we can hand over your remaining doses together with a doctor-signed document at the same visit, right after your vaccination. Tell us in advance how many doses you'll take and how long your journey is. This preparation does not replace airline or country rules; check transport and entry requirements separately if needed.

108.How big is the cool bag, and will it fit in my hand luggage?

Your vaccines are packed in a standard, small vaccine cool bag. You can carry it by hand or put it in your hand luggage or another bag.

109.Can I take Gardasil 9 on a plane?

Yes, air travel can be planned when proper transport conditions and the rules of the airline and destination country are met. Carry the vaccines in a suitable thermal bag kept at 2–8°C, not in ordinary checked luggage. Confirm the rules on ice packs, hand luggage and medicine documents with your airline before you fly. Our team prepares the vaccine documents and helps with travel preparation. [1]

110.How many hours does the thermal cool bag protect the vaccine, and how should I use it?

When used as recommended, the thermal bag prepared by our clinic keeps the vaccine at 2–8°C for about 24 hours. If your journey will take longer or you have a connection, let us know in advance so we can plan interim storage together. Use the bag as our team shows you at collection; prevent the vaccine from touching the ice packs directly and freezing. Don't open the bag unnecessarily or leave it in the sun. Maintain 2–8°C from collection until the vaccine is given. [1]

111.Where should I get Gardasil 9?

Get Gardasil 9 at a trusted clinic where the original product is reliably sourced, the cold chain is maintained without interruption, and a doctor's assessment and medical supervision are provided. Correct storage, giving it to the right person and keeping a proper record all matter together. At our clinic, the doctor's assessment, the vaccination and your vaccination certificate are handled in one visit. For more details, see our blog post “Where should you get the HPV vaccine?”.

Certificates and reminders

112.Do you issue a vaccination certificate after Gardasil 9? Is it in English?

Yes. We issue an official vaccination certificate for every Gardasil 9 dose given at our clinic. It is prepared to match the name on your passport and records the dose given. If you'll have your next doses at another healthcare facility, keep your certificate with you. We usually prepare it in English; if you need another language, let us know before your appointment and we can prepare it in your preferred language.

113.What information is on the vaccination certificate?

The certificate includes your identity details, the vaccine name, the date given and the dose record, the product's lot or batch details and information about the healthcare facility. You can check the barcode, lot number and expiry date on the product with our team before vaccination.

114.Can I use the vaccination certificate from your clinic abroad?

Our clinic issues an official vaccination certificate documenting the dose given. This is important for showing your previous vaccination when you get your next dose in another country. However, as each country or institution may have its own rules for registration, translation or entry into electronic systems, check a specific institution's acceptance requirements in advance.

115.Can you provide visa support or documents if I'm travelling for vaccination?

Yes. We provide a document showing your vaccination appointment and administration. Just tell us the type of document and language you need before your appointment.

116.Can I get a payment receipt and a description of the service for my insurance?

Let's confirm before your appointment the payment document our clinic can issue and the document describing the service provided. You can share in advance the type of document and language your insurer requires.

117.Do you send reminders for my next doses?

Yes. We send a reminder message as your next Gardasil 9 dose dates approach. We also recommend adding the dates on your certificate to your own calendar. If you have a dose in another country or healthcare facility, share the date with us so we can update your record and continuation plan. If your travel plans change, you can message us for a new appointment.
